We thank Ceres Doyo FOR writing about Buhay Ka (Hong Kong). Many overseas Filipino workers here in Hong Kong bought a copy of the Aug. 27 Inquirer issue that carried Doyo?s column, which helped us a lot because those who read it suddenly became aware of the existence of this small community Buhay Ka? and especially because we have an upcoming charity show titled ?Life? (Living Is For Everyone) for the benefit of people whose lives have been altered by cancer.
It is true that a number of Filipino domestic helpers (DHs) remain in Hong Kong even after they have been diagnosed with cancer and other ailments.
I am very honored to be part of Buhay Ka and help this small community grow and extend assistance to more OFWs in Hong Kong. I hope that Doyo can write more about Buhay Ka and help us reach out to our fellow OFWs in other parts of the world, so that that in the future, every country will have a small community called Buhay Ka to support, inspire and give hope to our less fortunate OFWs.
