Korean doctor found dead in hotel room
POLICE have ruled out foul play in the death of a Korean doctor who was found dead inside his hotel room in Malate, Manila barely a day after he arrived in the country. Chief Inspector Erwin Margarejo of the Manila Police District’s homicide division said Moon Sick Park, 49, could have died of a heart attack while he was sleeping in his room at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino. “The victim’s body did not bear external injuries or any signs of struggle that may suggest foul play,” Margarejo told the Philippine Daily Inquirer. He said the victim’s companion, a Korean nurse, sought the help of hotel attendant Wilfredo Manabo Jr. after she noticed that Park was not breathing when she woke up at around 7:20 a.m. Saturday. Hotel personnel rushed Park to the Manila Doctors Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Margarejo said the Korean couple arrived in the country on Friday for a five-day vacation.
