MANILA, Philippines—Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay on Monday urged city residents to take part in prayer vigils in their villages for the quick recovery of former President Corazon Aquino, who is suffering from colon cancer.
The 67-year-old Aquino has been confined at Makati Medical Center for more than a week due to weakness and loss of appetite.
The prayer vigils are being held at Santuario de San Antonio Church, Forbes Park, at 6 p.m. (Saturdays only); the village hall in the villages of Bel-Air, Dasmariñas, Forbes Park, Magallanes, San Lorenzo, Urdaneta, and Bangkal (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily);
Carmona chapel, 6 p.m. (Saturdays only); Kasilawan village hall, 3 p.m. daily; Olympia village hall, 3 p.m. daily; Palanan village hall, 11 a.m. to 12 noon daily; Pio del Pilar village hall, 12 noon to 5 p.m. daily; San Isidro village hall, 2:30 p.m. daily;
The village of Sta. Cruz chapel, 5:30 p.m. daily; Tejeros village hall, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; Valenzuela village hall, 9 a.m. daily; Comembo village hall, 3 p.m. daily;
Guadalupe Viejo village hall, 9 a.m. daily; the village of Pembo Chapel, 7 a.m. (Sunday Mass); Pitogo village hall , 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Mondays only); the village of Rizal chapel, 8 a.m. (Sunday Mass); and Sta. Theresita Parish beside West Rembo village hall, 5 p.m. daily.
