MANILA, Philippines -- Police raided Thursday a house in Tondo, Manila where fake license plates and Land Transportation Office (LTO) stickers were allegedly being made.
A man identified only as Rey, who was allegedly behind the manufacture of fake congressional, commemorative and motorcycle license plates, and LTO stickers, eluded arrest.
But his two workers identified as Elizalde Ortiz and Rommel Ramos were arrested in an entrapment operation before the raid on the house at the corner of Narra and Batangas Streets in Tondo.
License plates were being sold from P300 to P1,500, while LTO stickers were priced at P40 each, said Inspector Fernando Opelanio, head of the police raiding team. Ramos and Ortiz would be charged for violating the Land Transportation and Traffic Code. Tina G. Santos
