MANILA, Philippines? Two men posing as employees of a cargo delivery service company shot dead an official of the Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP) in his apartment in Quezon City on Saturday morning, the police said Sunday.
Superintendent Gerardo Ratuita, deputy chief of the Quezon City Police District?s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, identified the victim as Edwin Reyes, 51, of Barangay (village) Masagana in Project 4, Quezon City.
Reyes was the public relations officer of the BMPAP.
Ratuita said the gunmen, who were on a motorcycle, knocked on the gate of the victim?s house at around 10 a.m. Saturday and said they were delivering a cue stick.
One of the men went inside the house carrying a package while the other remained outside.
The alleged delivery man then handed over the package to the victim and asked him to sign a delivery receipt.
As the victim was signing the receipt, the delivery man pulled out a caliber .45 gun, shot him twice at close range, and escaped with his companion.
The victim?s neighbors rushed him to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center, where he died an hour later.
Ratuita said they have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
