MANILA, Philippines ? The former spokesperson of the Philippine National Police has been appointed head of the Northern Police District which has jurisdiction over the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela (Camanava).
Chief Supt. Samuel D. Pagdilao Jr. will take over the post from Chief Supt. Eric Q. Javier on Wednesday.
Pagdilao, who is also a lawyer, was the deputy regional director for administration of the National Capital Region Police Office before his appointment. Before that, he served as the PNP?s spokesperson.
Javier, on the other hand, has been appointed head of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations for Eastern Mindanao.
He told the Inquirer that Pagdilao was on leave but would assume his new assignment next week.
In the meantime, Javier said he has designated Senior Supt. Rolando Velicaria as NPD officer in charge.
Javier, who was a graduate of the prestigious United States Military Academy in West Point, Virginia, was appointed NPD chief in November, replacing Chief Supt. Pedro U. Tango.
