Crackdown on guns
The Northern Police District (NPD) chief has ordered a crackdown on loose firearms in the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela in the light of the increase in the number of stray bullet victims in the area during the New Year revelry. NPD director Chief Supt. Eric Javier said not only are unlicensed firearms suspected to be the cause of many of the stray bullets fired during the revelry, they also account for most of the shooting incidents recorded in the past year. Javier also asked Camanava residents to surrender their illegal guns to authorities. Beverly T. Natividad
