Monica, Novaliches, reported the incident to the Manila Police District (MPD) Sta. Cruz Station 3. Police reports said the victim was walking in Plaza Miranda at around 3 p.m. Sunday when he noticed that someone had cut a hole in his bag. He checked his things and found out that he had lost his Rolex wristwatch, two gold necklaces, a gold bracelet, a gold ring and a diamond ring. The victim said he could not identify the thief because he did not know when his bag was cut open. Jeannette I. Andrade
Shrine defaced?
A day after the 145th birth anniversary of national hero Andres Bonifacio, investigators of the Manila Police District were ordered to look into reports that thieves have desecrated the hero’s shrine which is just beside the Manila City Hall. Supt. Rogelio Rosales, MPD Ermita station 5 commander, told the Inquirer that they were checking reports that some unidentified men have cut off parts of the bronze sculpture which shows important events in Bonifacio’s life. “We will be requesting for a picture of the monument to determine exactly which parts are missing,” Rosales said.
