MANILA, Philippines ? Saying that poor self-image was one of the biggest hurdles to success, inspirational speaker Bo Sanchez and other renowned spiritual leaders have vowed to ?awaken the miracle? in people during the second Kerygma conference on Nov. 29 to 30.

Sanchez, a well-known lay preacher and best-selling author, said in a recent interview that the event was aimed at inspiring everyone to become a better person through motivational lectures, prayer and lively singing.

?A lot of people don?t see how beautiful they are. They look at themselves in a terrible way... maybe their parents were not there for them or probably just kept correcting them. They feel like they?re just a bunch of errors,? he told the Inquirer.

?But we were made in the image and likeness of God. If only they can see what God can see, then you will see your full potential,? added the 42-year-old Sanchez who started preaching at the age of 14.

Touted as the country?s biggest Catholic learning event, the theme of the Kerygma Conference 2008 which will be held at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City is ?Awaken the Miracle in You.?

Among the speakers are Fr. Bill Halbing, a renewal leader from the US whom Sanchez described as ?one of the most inspiring and funniest? preachers he has ever met.

Bro. Bob Canton, the national coordinator of the Alliance of Filipino Catholic Charismatic Prayer Communities, will lead the healing session.

In 2007, about 5,000 of its readers and people from all walks of life attended the first Kerygma conference.

Sanchez said they decided to make the conference an annual gathering as many participants received blessing while others were healed. Some who were lame were finally able to walk while those who had given up on life suddenly found new hope.

?Last year, we?ve had phenomenal stories of healing during the conference itself and even weeks after so we?re hoping that more people will attend this year,? he said.
