Elevator operator dies from fall
A 19-year-old elevator operator died after he fell from the elevator of a condominium under construction in Tondo, Manila Wednesday morning. The fatality was identified as Jobrez Jacob, a resident of Baesa, Caloocan City. He died on the spot because of a broken skull and fractured bones. Investigators at the Manila Police District homicide division said the accident occurred at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at the construction site of King Plaza Condominium on Juan Luna Street, Tondo. The victim reportedly fell out of the elevator from the fourth floor, police said. Ramil Antonio, a coworker, told investigators that he was in the toilet on the ground floor when he heard a loud thud. When he checked the source of the sound, he saw Jacob?s body sprawled on the ground. He added that the victim operated the elevator servicing the ground floor up to the sixth floor of the nine-story condominium.
