MANILA, Philippines – The Cainta police released a sketch of the suspect in the shooting of a young woman in a holdup in the town last week.

However, no lead that could help identify the gunman has been received so far.

Tara Santelices, a guitarist of the young band Saffron Speedway and a recent graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University, is still fighting for her life at the Medical City.

Her friends and family appealed to other witnesses to come forward and help authorities apprehend the suspect. Two witnesses have helped police so far.

Joyce Elaine Mejias, a witness, collaborated with authorities in providing details for an artist’s sketch of the robber, said PO2 Edgar Awa-aw, case investigator.

“We have already shown her [Mejias] several pictures of possible suspects but she has not identified any of them as that of the robber,” said Awa-aw. Another witness, Abigail Soriano, is also helping the police.

Santelices and Mejias were robbed by the unidentified man inside a jeepney bound for Angono around 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 6 along Imelda Avenue in Cainta.

The robber shot Santelices in the head before escaping with the bags of the victims. The 23-year-old musician is still in critical condition.
