MANILA, Philippines ? The newborn baby girl allegedly thrown from a taxi cab by her teenage mother is now out of danger.
A staff member of the Ospital ng Maynila, who refused to be named for lack of authority to speak, said the baby ?is now doing well.?
But the hospital employee said they continued to monitor the victim?s condition for possible infections.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Pedro Gil and Onyx Streets in Paco, Manila.
The 15-year-old mother was reportedly in a taxi, together with two relatives, when she suddenly threw her baby out of the window.
A concerned resident in the area had taken the baby immediately to a nearby lying-in clinic before she was transferred to the Ospital ng Maynila. Shel had bruises and lumps on the head as a result of the fall.
The baby?s mother was facing frustrated infanticide charges, police said. They said the suspect had been handed over to the Women?s and Children?s Desk of the Manila Police District for investigation.
