Private jet is a definite plus

Feb. 20, Cebu

8 a.m.- Manuel ?Manny? Villar and his team visit Oppon Public Market in Lapu-Lapu City. He usually starts and ends a campaign day at a market, prompting people to ask if he wants to be the new ?Mr. Palengke.? Then it is off to a densely populated area in Barangay Suba in Cebu City.

11:30 a.m.- Media people who have just flown in from Manila are told that Villar is at the residence of Ricardo Cardinal Vidal. The candidate says he did not seek an endorsement, merely the archbishop?s blessing.

12:30 p.m.- An upbeat Villar has lunch with journalists in Mandaue City and even sings a few lines of ?Nearness of You.? He says the reception he got from Cebuanos exceeded his expectations.

In the evening, Villar joins NP Cebu mayors for dinner.

Feb. 21, Cebu and Davao

8 a.m.- Villar skips an early morning press conference at the Waterfront Hotel with the NP slate; later, he goes with the NP candidates to campaign in the resort island of Bantayan and Bogo town in northern Cebu.

1 p.m.- Villar takes an hour?s flight in his private Lear jet to Davao City with senatorial candidate Col. Ariel Querubin?s stepson Martin Loon for the United Pentecostal Church endorsement, a meet that lasted 30 minutes.

4 p.m.- He catches up with other presidential candidates for the prayer worship of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy?s The Kingdom of Jesus Christ at the Cebu International Convention Center.

9 p.m.- Wowowee host Willie Revillame introduces Villar to the crowd at the mini-rally cum variety show in Mandaue City. Giving away T-shirts and bottles of the cologne bearing his name, Revillame is more wildly received than the presidential candidate.

Villar tells his rags-to-riches story and says he hopes to transform the lives of other Filipinos as well.
