Nurse, 28, is first health worker positive of COVID-19 in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY — A nurse in Daraga town in Albay province was the first health worker in Bicol that has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Antonio Ludovice, chief of Provincial Health Office, said the 28-year-old female nurse was exposed to a 74-year-old COVID-19 male patient from Imperial Court, Legazpi City.

Ludovice said the nurse was confined and isolated in a private hospital in this city and would be transferred to Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital.

As of Sunday morning, the region has 25 confirmed cases. Sixteen of them have recovered while one has died.
