Can’t BO-PK accept people’s will?

By

Now it can be told that the Bando Osmeña – Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK) will file an election protest against victors Mayor Michael Rama and Vice Mayor-elect Edgardo Labella. Initially, Vice Mayor Joy Augustus Young blamed teachers for being part of cheating in the May 13 election because according to him the increase in allowance given by the city government to them last year was some sort of vote buying Mayor Rama.

Generally peaceful polls

By

Yesterday I was so happy to be able to vote without a problem. I woke up about 7 a.m. and went directly to our polling precinct. I had to line up for about an hour and realized that next time I should be at the polling precinct before it opens. But the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machine accepted my ballot without a hitch.

Academic freedom

By

Whoever released the annulment record of a mayoralty bet is irresponsible and highly insensitive. For one the records of the annulment cases are considered confidential thus should not be released to the public until finally decided by the Supreme Court. Secondly I am more concerned with how it would affect the children of the mayoralty bet. The children may not be speaking but I am pretty sure they are affected by the press release of the findings of the psychiatrist of their father. Thirdly the other party has candidates who are not morally upright. So it is not fair to release to the public confidential records especially that the findings of the psychiatrist in the case do not exactly mean that the person is insane or mentally challenged.

Sad family affair

By

The controversy involving the Sanchez siblings is very unfortunate. Recently the daughter of the late vice governor Greg Sanchez, Gigi Zaballero complained about the behavior of her brother Greco whom she said is hooked on illegal drugs. This is not the first time that we have heard of Greco because even when the late [...]

Same alibi

By

I am hoping that the Comelec would be honest and courageous to confront and directly answer questions about the controversy in Compostela town where the result of the manual count of ballots retrieved from the last 2010 election don’t reflect the same count in the PCOS machine.
