No signs of missing ferry passengers

Search and rescue (SAR) operations in the waters off Burias Island of Masbate continued on Sunday but with no success in finding the remaining seven missing passengers of the ill-fated MV Lady of Mount Carmel.

‘Ofel’ strands some 2,500 passengers stranded in Bicol ports

At least 2,500 passengers were stranded in various ports across Bicol after storm signal number one brought on by tropical storm “Ofel” was raised over the region and the rest of Southern Luzon, the regional Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported Thursday.

Magnitude 3.5-4.1 quakes rock Bicol, Romblon–Phivolcs

A magnitude 3.5 quake was recorded at 5:36 a.m. about 61 kilometers south and 85 degrees west of Naga City in Camarines Sur, while a 4.1 magnitude tremor was recorded at 1:38 a.m. some 24 kilometers south and 57 degrees east of Banton, Romblon, according to bulletins published at the website of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Siesmology (Phivolcs).
