Food relief for ‘Pablo’ victims to end in March

US forces asked to help search for missing `Pablo’ victims

US forces operating in the country under the Joint US Military Advisory Group (Jusmag)along with six, or about half of the Philippine Air Force’s helicopter inventory, have been tapped to speed up the search for hundreds of people still missing in Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental in the wake of Typhoon Pablo.

Ore-crushing plants on Mt. Diwata to be relocated

The regional office of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau in Southern Mindanao has directed the transfer of gold-ore-crushing and processing facilities on Mt. Diwata in Monkayo, Compostela Valley, to stanch the pollution of the Naboc River, an important source of water for farming in the province, with mercury and other contaminants.
