SINGAPORE-- China's President Hu Jintao arrived in Singapore on Wednesday for an annual summit of Asia-Pacific leaders including US President Barack Obama and Russia's Dmitry Medvedev, Chinese officials said.
Hu arrived from Malaysia, where he paid the first visit by a Chinese leader in 15 years, and was to meet Singapore President S. R. Nathan in the evening, officials with China's foreign ministry said.
While in Singapore, Hu intends to hold bilateral meetings with leaders including Medvedev, said the officials, who added that final arrangements had not yet been made.
Hu was scheduled to return to China on Sunday.
It was not yet known whether he would hold a separate bilateral meeting with Obama in Singapore, since the US leader will travel to China on Sunday for his first visit there as president, they added.
