DAVAO CITY, Philippines – (UPDATE 2) Six presidential candidates showed up at the forum hosted by influential pastor and international televangelist Apollo Quiboloy on Tuesday afternoon.
The forum called Sukatan 2010 and held at the Cathedral of the Central Headquarters of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name Above Every Name, in Buhangin here, started at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday.
Those who showed up were presidential aspirants, Gilbert Teodoro, Ana Consuelo “Jamby” Madrigal, Richard Gordon, Nicanor Perlas, former president Joseph Estrada, and Brother Eddie Villanueva.
Estrada came late, citing some problems with his plane.
Manny Villar arrived here mid-noon but has yet to appear at the forum.
Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. and JC Delos Reyes were a no-show.
The forum dubbed as "Sukatan 2010" was originally scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
It was first set in February but was moved to Tuesday (March 9) after Aquino backed out because of conflicting schedules.
The reason for Aquino’s decision not to show up on Tuesday was not yet known.
The forum is being attended by civil society groups, academe, students, lawyers, business sector, supporters of the candidates and followers of Quiboloy.
