LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Four suspected members of a robbery and gun-for-hire group operating in Pangasinan were arrested in Umingan town on Monday, police said on Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Percival Barba, provincial police director, said Manny Colisao, 31, leader of the Colisao Group; his brother, Modesto Colisao, 25; Jojo Torio, 21; and Alver Mendoza, were arrested in a raid on their safe house in the village of San Leon, Umingan, on Monday afternoon.
A warrant for their arrest was issued by Judge Emma Bauzon of the San Carlos City Regional Trial Court.
Barba said Colisao's group was involved in the killing of school principal Luisito Gabat on March 2 and former village chairman Flor Benitez on March 31. Gabat and Benitez were shot dead in Gomez village in Malasiqui town.
Manny Colisao and one Benny Lopez were responsible for the murder of Domingo Ballesteros, economic enterprise chief of Calasiao town, on June 16, Barba said.
He said the group was also responsible for the series of robbery incidents that victimized Indian traders, businessmen and messengers of courier service agencies in Pangasinan.
