MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed criminal charges against the financier of a clandestine 'shabu' (methamphetamine hydrochloride) laboratory in La Union province, Justice Secretary Agnes Davanadera said.
Devanadera ordered the filing of charges against Joselito Artuz alias George Cordero before the La Union regional trial court after Malacañang reversed earlier findings of former Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, who ordered the case dismissed for lack of due process.
The case stemmed from the confiscation of truckloads of "shabu" raw materials and other drug paraphernalia from a house in Bimotobot village, Naguilian town in La Union province owned by one Eusebio Tangalin, who was also charged.
