DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines -- The daughter of a radio reporter and commentator was shot dead in Tambac village here Thursday morning, police said.
Zharlene Yadao, 24, a nurse and daughter of broadcaster Susan Yadao, was walking home from hospital duty at 5 a.m. when two men aboard a motorcycle hit her on the head and then shot her, police said.
The young Yadao, also an instructor at the Colegio de Dagupan here, was attacked about 300 meters from the family home, police said.
Investigators are looking at robbery and other possible motives that the family suspect could have prompted the attack, said Superintendent Mariano Versoza, the city chief.
The victim’s relatives said she had received threatening text messages before she was killed.
