MANILA, Philippines -- The most wanted person in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) region was killed when he allegedly shot it out with policemen in Cavite province Wednesday afternoon, a police official said.
The suspect, Alfredo Monton, encountered policemen in San Jose village, Noveleta town at 5:15 p.m., said Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad, regional police chief.
Monton had a P300,000 reward for his arrest, Palad said.
Police Officer 3 Renato Dalida was also injured in the fire fight and was rushed to the St. Martin's Hospital where he is now in stable condition, Palad said.
