LUCENA CITY – (UPDATE) At least four people were killed and two were injured when a twister hit the island town of Perez, Quezon midnight Tuesday, police said.
Senior Inspector Susan Planas, Perez chief of police, said in a mobile phone interview, that the fatalities were all fishermen.
The injured were rushed to Alabat hospital for treatment.
The fishermen, from Atimonan and Perez towns, docked their boat in Sitio (sub-village) Pinagbayanan in the village of Sangirin because of the typhoon.
Police said the authorities and fishers in the area were still conducting rescue and retrieval operations. Delfin T. Mallari Jr.
