MANILA, Philippines – Where in the world is Nanay Dionesia?
Members of the media who waited for the arrival of Manny Pacquiao Friday morning left the airport "disappointed" after failing to interview Dionesia Pacquiao, the Filipino boxing marvel's mother.
Pacquiao's rosary-wielding mother was noticeably missing when the boxing champ's entourage emerged from the gallery area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 in Parañaque City.
"It would have been nice to hear her talk about her experience in the US," said radio DWIZ reporter Erwin Aguilon. "I'm sure the public was also interested in hearing her story."
Dionesia, in turned out, immediately boarded a connecting flight to her hometown, General Santos City, shortly after the entourage arrived from Los Angeles, California.
Angel Atutubo, NAIA security chief, said Pacquiao's mother had to rush to catch up with the domestic flight as the Philippine Airlines Flight 103 from Los Angeles was delayed by some 20 minutes.
