COTABATO CITY – A Filipino-Chinese businessman and his 10-year-old daughter have not been released by their kidnappers, a police official said, amid reports that the victims have been freed.

Reports circulating in this city said Wilson Tan, in his 50s, and his daughter Jennifer, were freed by the kidnappers after paying ransom money.

"It's not true. That's the information circulating but I just talked to Mr. Tan's wife, Janet, and she did not confirm the information," said Senior Police Officer 1 Danilo Rocio of the Presidential Anti-Crime and Emergency Response by phone.
