LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte -- The wife of Eric Fariñas, younger brother of former Ilocos Norte Gov. Rodolfo Fariñas, was found dead in the family's house in Paoay town on Friday night.
Rosalyn Paguyo, 56, wife of Eric, was found in the couple's bedroom after family members forced their way inside the room at about 6 p.m., police said.
Senior Inspector Dexter Corpuz, Paoay police chief, said he received a call from the former governor at about 8 p.m. Friday asking him to go to the family house in Barangay (village) Suba because Paguyo was found dead.
Corpuz said initial findings by doctors showed she died of cerebral hemorrhage as indicated by the presence of fresh blood in her mouth. Hair strands were also found in her hands.
He said Paguyo could have experienced severe headache before she died.
The family's gardeners alerted household members on Friday that Paguyo had not come out of the bedroom since they last saw her on Wednesday afternoon.
