CAMP ELPIDIO QUIRINO, Bantay, Ilocos Sur -- Four persons were after their car was sideswiped by a bus in Namalangan village in Santa town early Saturday morning, police said.
Police said the Vigan City-bound Toyota Vios, driven by Mark John Cue, had allegedly encroached on the lane occupied by a Partas bus driven (with plate number AVN-498) by Rey Aldeza.
Cue was killed along with his passengers Ramon Gabriel Battad, Susan Llagas, and Felicisima Battad, all of Vigan.
A fourth passenger, Dr. Glenn Battad, survived and was undergoing treatment at the St. James Hospital in Vigan.
Senior Superintendent Virgilio Fabros, Ilocos Sur police chief, said the Partas bus, which came from Laoag City, was traveling along the highway when the victims' car encroached on its lane.
Aldeza tried to avoid hitting the car but still grazed it, causing the car to spin out of control and smash into a waiting shed.
Ramon Gabriel, 3, an adopted son of Glenn, Llanes, and Cue died on the spot.
Felicisima Battad died while undergoing treatment at St. James Hospital.
