MANILA, Philippines -- A man died while an 85-year old woman was injured in separate road accidents in Cavite province, police officials said.

Superintendent William Segun, Tagaytay City police chief, said the still unidentified driver of a Toyota Innova with license plate ZLZ-921 died on the spot when a speeding San Agustine Bus slammed into his vehicle at 12 noon on the Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay (village) Silang Crossing West.

Two passengers of the bus -- Florencia Bayot and Chelsie Joy Alba -- were hurt.

Meanwhile, in Bacoor, Cavite, an 85-year old woman miraculously survived after she was hit by a speeding red car and a bulk trailer 11 a.m., Superintendent Mario Reyes, town police chief said in a phone interview.

Pilar Calleja was crossing the road going to SM Bacoor when she was hit by a speeding red ca and thrown into the middle of the road, where the bulk trailer also lie there..
