MANILA, Philippines – Still unidentified suspects shot and killed a policeman and a civilian in Davao City Tuesday, a police report said Wednesday.
Reports reaching Camp Crame revealed that Senior Police Officer 1 Romeo Torres Rivera of the Davao City police was with Rey Cabaque and Raymond Bajada along Kilometer 13, Panacan in the same city when they accosted the suspects who were riding in tandem on board a Honda XRM motorcycle.
Instead of stopping, the two suspects reportedly drew their guns and fired at the three, hitting Rivera in different parts of the body that resulted in his immediate death, the police report said.
Cabaque sustained gunshot wounds on his stomach and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Bajada has been declared out of danger and is now confined in the hospital, the police report said.
Police investigation revealed that the two suspects carted away Rivera's service firearm. Police are still looking into the incident.
