MANILA, Philippines--The Philippine Coast Guard on Friday morning rescued 24 passengers of a Cebu-bound ferry from Leyte, identified as MV April Rose, after the vessel was stranded near Camotes Island due to engine trouble.
A Coast Guard report said they received a report about the ferry owned by Rose Shipping Lines, early morning Friday.
Further verification revealed that saltwater entered the main engine of the ferry, causing it to conk out near Camotes Island.
The Coast Guard immediately sent its boats to rescue the passengers of the stalled ferry.
