DAVAO CITY, Philippines—More than 100 houses were razed when a fire of still unknown origin broke out in the village of Leon Garcia in Agdao district here around 3 p.m., report from the city's Bureau of Fire Protection said.

One resident was also reported hurt in the incident that also razed two school buildings at a nearby public high school.

Dozens of families were now staying in a makeshift evacuation center in the said village.

The Bureau of Fire Protection here said fire engines had difficulty reaching houses on fire because of narrow alleys.

The fire was put under control after about two hours.
