DOJ employee shoots dead 2 robbers in Bulacan town

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan, Philippines -- Two men were killed after a gunfight with a Department of Justice employee whom they robbed in Meycauayan City on Saturday. Superintendent Demosthenes Felix, Meycauayan police chief, said Roland Cagampan, 41, a DOJ warrant officer, suffered bullet wounds in his head and thigh after he traded shots with the killed assailants, whom the police have yet to identify. Cagampan and his wife were on their way to the public market in Meycauayan aboard a motorcycle when the robbers, who were on another motorcycle, snatched his necklace at 10 a.m. He chased the assailants but they fired at him. Police said Cagampan was able to draw his .45 cal. gun and shoot the suspects. Cagampan was taken to the Sta. Clara de Montefalco Medical Center in Meycauayan. His wife was unhurt.
