MANILA, Philippines -- A municipal councilor in Abra province was gunned down inside his house in the provincial capital town of Bangued early this week, a belated police report released Wednesday said.
The victim, Pedro Enon Sr., 63, died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was a councilor in Tineg town but had a house in Calaba village, Bangued, the police report said.
At around 8:30 p.m. last Monday, unidentified suspects barged into the kitchen of Enon's house, where he was browsing through some documents, and sprayed him with bullets, the report said.
The suspects escaped.
Enon was brought to the Seares Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, it said.
Four spent caliber 5.56 shells from an Armalite rifle were recovered from the scene, the report said.
