MANILA, Philippines -- After more than a month of remaining holed up inside his office at the town hall, suspended Rizal town Mayor Pedro Cuerpo, finally left the building Friday morning.

A barong Tagalog-clad Cuerpo stepped out the town hall around 8 a.m., a statement from the Rizal provincial office said.

Cuerpo was scheduled to be arraigned in the Sandiganbayan for two criminal cases on Friday morning, the statement said.
