MANILA, Philippines ? Three police officials took on key positions in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Command Group Monday.
Deputy Director General Benjamin Belarmino has been assigned as the Deputy Chief for Administration, second in command of the PNP; Deputy Director General Raul Castañeda took on the role of the Deputy Chief for Operations, third in command of the PNP; while Director Nicanor Bartolome was made Acting Chief of Directorial Staff, fourth in command of the PNP.
PNP chief Director General Raul Bacalzo said that the recent reorganization in the police force was done to re-energize their officers and improve the organization?s performance level.
Replacing Bartolome as Acting Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office was Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima. Chief Superintendent Edgardo Ladao, meanwhile, has taken on the position of Regional Director to the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon).
Retirements set for the following months this year ?will allow for yet another upward movement of the younger officers in the leadership chain to maintain the dynamic cycle and ensure continuity of command,? Bacalzo said.
