DZIQ: House votes to impeach Gutierrez

MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE) Voting 212-46 with four abstentions, the House of Representatives Tuesday sent the articles of impeachment to the Senate for trial of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, according to Radyo Inquirer reporter Isa Avendaño.

The vote was initially pegged at 210-47, but after the second round of voting the total figure changed to 212-46.

Makati Rep. Mar-Len Abigail Binay added her vote to those in favor of Gutierrez’s impeachment and San Juan Rep. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito changed his “No” vote to a “Yes” for impeachment.
