MANILA, Philippines?President Benigno Aquino III took the day off on Friday, the second day that he continues to be afflicted with fever, the Palace said.

Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said Mr. Aquino was still ?under the weather.? She said that he only needed to rest.

?We no longer received his schedule because we were advised that the president would rest today,? Valte said when asked what presidential engagements were canceled due to his sickness.

Valte said the President already canceled some of his appointments on Thursday and took state papers home to attend to them at his official residence, Bahay Pangarap.
