MANILA, Philippines?Retired police officers who normally get their pension checks every 21st of the month are in for a bit of disappointment as they will have to wait until Friday for their checks.

The change in command at the Philippine National Police (PNP) and inevitable change in check signatory caused the lag in processing former policemen's pension, the PNP Financial Service Department said on Tuesday.

The PNP Financial Service Department assured the pensioners, survivors, and beneficiaries that they are working to have the checks released by Friday.
