MANILA, Philippines? It will be a wet weekend for the entire country as a low pressure area has formed near Palawan, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Saturday.

In its Saturday afternoon weather outlook, the agency said the low pressure area was located some 280 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa City.

Also, an inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is affecting the Visayas and Mindanao.

Because of the two weather systems, Southern and Central Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

These conditions are expected to persist until Wednesday next week, Pagasa said.

On Saturday, Metro Manila experienced cloudy skies with between light to heavy rains scattered in different parts of the metropolis.

Temperatures will range from 25 degrees to 32 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila. Baguio City is expected to feel temperatures between a chilly 16 degrees and 24 degrees. In the Visayas, temperatures will range from 23 to 32 degrees. Major cities in Mindanao will experience temperatures from 21 to 31 degrees.

No tropical cyclone has recently entered the Philippine area of responsibility, but Pagasa said two or three storms could be expected to enter the country in August.
