MANILA, Philippines?Albay Representative Edcel Lagman on Monday said that the minority will continue to support the administration as long as it will not be involved in ?partisan adventurism.?

Speaking to reporters, Lagman, who lost to Liberal Party?s Representative Feliciano Belmonte Jr. for the House Speakership position, said, ?That means to say that as long as the agenda of the administration will benefit the greater number, then we are going to cooperate. But if it will be partisan adventurism on the part of the administration then we will not conspire.?

Lagman lost to Belmonte by a landslide. The Lakas-Kampi CMD congressman garnered only 29 votes while Belmonte gained 227 votes.

Lagman said that although the minority lost, they ?will not forfeit our right to fiscalize.?

?As I?ve told you, an aspiration for the speakership was genuinely impossible. But because our numbers have been eroded then we accept that we do not have numbers to win the speakership. But
considering that we are warriors in Congress, we fought the impossible dream and we conceded,? Lagman added.

He said he would like to see Congress pursue improvement of health, education, security, employment, mass housing, and the environment.

Lagman also said he would pursue with the controversial Reproductive Health Bill.

?I have filed a number of bills and I would like to see the RH bill pass in the 15th Congress and the advocates of RH are fortunate because even the Speaker of the House is an advocate,? he added.
