Australian PM congratulates Aquino

MANILA, Philippines?Another head of state, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, made a phone call to president apparent Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Monday to congratulate him on his impending victory.

Aquino himself confirmed this after receiving the phone call from Rudd late Monday noon.

"Tumawag na si PM Kevin Rudd," he said in a text message.

"He told me to enjoy the celebration and then he congratulated me," Aquino said in a separate phone interview.

Aquino said they also talked the "mutual interests" of their respective countries.

Rudd was the fourth head of state, who have so far congratulated Aquino after China, Japan and Spain.
