MANILA, Philippines ? Buoyed by a recent survey result showing him at number two, the highest he has gotten so far in various surveys, administration candidate Gilbert Teodoro vowed to stay on and become number one up until election day.

?Sabi ko sa?yo hindi ako titigil hanggat hindi ako number one. Ngayon number two na [I told you that I won?t stop until I become number one. Now, I?m number two]. . . ,? Teodoro told reporters Friday in an interview.

Asked if he can make it to the top spot until the May elections, Teodoro said, ?Syempre, syempre, kayang-kaya [Of course, of course, we can do it],? he said.

A survey by the Campaign and Images Group, which was commissioned by foreign-based companies in the country, showed the Lakas-Kampi-Christian Muslim Democrats standard-bearer in second place with a 24 percent score, behind Senator Manuel Villar of the Nacionalista Party, who got 31 percent.

Senator Benigno ?Noynoy? Aquino III placed third with 20 percent, while former President Joseph Estrada was in fourth spot with 13 percent.

The survey, which ended on March 7, was conducted on more than 5,000 respondents across the country. Campaigns and Images Group was commissioned by US- and UK-based companies in the country to perform the poll survey.

Teodoro has consistently placed fourth in the surveys conducted by Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations, although his score had been improving.

Teodoro said he would be coming out with television ads soon to help shore up his ratings. He said he would be shooting for an ads Saturday, but would not disclose the details.

?Basta walang love scene dun [As long as there?s no love scene there],? he quipped.
