MANILA, Philippines ? The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has ordered the deportation of a convicted German pedophile wanted in his country for several child molestation cases.
Ordered deported by the BI Board of Commissioners is Holger Arvid Ingo Becker, 48, for being an undesirable alien.
Aside from ordering his deportation, the board had also placed Becker in the immigration blacklist to prevent him from returning to the Philippines.
He was also meted an administrative fine of P50, 000 as additional penalty for violating Philippine immigration laws.
Becker has been detained at the immigration jail in Bicutan since April last year when he was arrested by BI operatives at his residence in Cavite City.
He was arrested on the strength of a deportation order issued by Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan upon request of the German embassy in Manila and based on an international arrest warrant issued by the International Police (Interpol).
Immigration Spokesman Atty. Floro Balato Jr. said the German government revoked Becker?s passport.
Records showed that Becker had been hiding in the Philippines since January 2008 when he fled Germany to evade arrest and imprisonment.
The German embassy had described Becker as a notorious pedophile, who was convicted for child abduction and had been accused of molesting several children in Germany before he fled to the Philippines.
The warrant for Becker?s arrest was issued in February 2009 by a local court in Hamburg where he was charged for raping a five-year old girl in September 2006.
