CALAMBA, LAGUNA, Philippines? Two militant senatorial bets of the Nacionalista Party momentarily set aside their differences with the son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos when they attended a mass here on Tuesday.
Bayan Muna Representative Satur Ocampo and Gabriela Representative Liza Maza attended the mass at the St. John the Baptist Church, where Ilocos Representative Ferdinand "Bong-Bong" Marcos Jr. was also present.
It was one of those very few instances where the three were seen together since they all joined the NP's senatorial ticket.
Ocampo and Maza did not show up when Senator Manuel Villar's NP held a proclamation rally in Tondo, Manila. Marcos attended the event.
Reporters covering the mass noted that the three senatorial bets kept their distance throughout the mass.
The two militant lawmakers are known critics of martial law under the Marcos regime.
Villar and his running-mate, Senator Loren Legarda, along with other senatorial bets, also attended the mass.
