MANILA, Philippines?Move over, Fr. Robert Reyes.

Senatorial candidate and marathoner Gilbert Remulla will attempt to run-literally-- in 28 provinces as his advocacy campaign on protecting journalists from violence.

Remulla, a former broadcast journalist and NP spokesperson, will launch his campaign today in Pasay City.

A press statement from the Nacionalista Party said that Remulla would be donating a computer to a major media group for each leg of his run.

He would also be giving out t-shirts with ?Stop Killing Journalists? to mediamen he would meet in each of the 28 provinces.

The Philippines has been tagged as the world?s most dangerous place for journalists by international media watchdog groups after the brutal November 23 massacre of 57 people in Maguindanao.

Among the massacre victims were some 30 reporters who were set to cover the filing of certificate of candidacy by a political rival of Maguindanao political kingpin, Andal Ampatuan, Sr.

His son, Mayor Andal Ampatuan, Jr., who was being groomed to replace his father as Maguindanao governor, is now facing murder charges for allegedly masterminding the carnage.
