COPENHAGEN -- Word has just started to spread through the massive conference venue. The two-week-long climate change talks in this snowbound city have just been extended for at least another day.

"The secretary-general of the UN has asked people not to leave tonight," European Union Environment Commissioner Stavros Dima was quoted as telling the Reuters news agency.
