MANILA, Philippines ? President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was set to check in Friday night at the St. Luke?s Medical Center for a regular medical examination, days ahead of her departure for the summit on climate change in Denmark.

?President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will check into the St. Luke?s Medical Center tonight for a weekend regular physical checkup,? Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said Friday night.

Ms Arroyo is scheduled to leave the hospital on Sunday night and ?resume her regular work schedule? on Monday, he said.

?The President is in good spirits. The weekend checkup is part of her wellness routine,? he said.

Ms Arroyo is scheduled to depart on Wednesday to attend the United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen.

In June this year, she stirred speculations that she had a breast implant when she checked into the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang after a two-week trip to Japan, Brazil, Colombia and Hong Kong.

Malacañang said the hospital stay was part of the protocol against the Influenza AH1N1 virus. After she checked out, news broke that she underwent replacement of leaking breast implants done in the 1980s.

Malacañang admitted she underwent biopsies for lumps in her breast at the hospital and that the results were negative for tumor. It initially denied the implants replacement, but later admitted that she had a breast implant in the ?80s.
