MANILA, Philippines – Senator Richard Gordon will run for president in 2010 and will reportedly have former Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando as his runningmate.

Gordon's office notified the media on Tuesday about the senator’s news conference before noon this Tuesday where he would announce his presidential bid under his party Bagumbayan.

Gordon is also introducing his runningmate Fernando, sources said.

The senator said last weekend that he was considering either running for president or seek reelection in the Senate.
