MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE) Adorned with 22-carat gold necklace and rings in all his ten fingers, a dentist from Calapan City filed his candidacy for president at the Commission on Elections Sunday.

The man who identified himself as Dr. Agustin Bolor (not Aguilar as earlier reported) said he is president of the Barangay Kagawad (village councilmen) of the Philippines.

He said wearing gold has become his signature in Calapan City. “I’m known as Doctin,” he said.

Aguilar said that in his three-year term as a barangay chairman, he saw that the country needs change.

“This is my first time to file my candidacy for president. I saw the need to promote health and education in the country,” he said.
